Willie R. Hamer Sr.

Willie R. Hamer Sr., 85, of Carthage, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at HCR Manor Care, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Southern Pines. Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Simon Funeral Home, Southern Pines.
He is survived by his wife, Ella; sons, Willie Hamer Jr., Clifton McCuthchen and Ray Hampton Jr.; daughters, Brenda and Leesa Hampton, and Mithra Williams; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
