Mr. Ralph A. Gaeta, 56, of Southern Pines, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Thyne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gaeta was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Southern Pines in 1973, to attend Sandhills Community College and made Southern Pines his home. He worked with horses for several years and then joined his father in the building and remodeling business. Ralph was a member of Masonic Lodge 484 of Southern Pines. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Ralph also enjoyed bird shooting, sailing and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, son and brother, and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Gaeta is survived by his wife, Margaret “Sandy” Gaeta; and his parents, Ralph and Alice Gaeta, of Southern Pines; one sister, Alane Gaeta Lennon and husband, Tony, of Southern Pines; one brother, Dr. Ronald Barthold Gaeta, of Brookfield, Conn.; one niece, Crosby Hanlon Gaeta; one nephew, Walker James Gaeta.
