Meriel C. Deaton, 84, of Robbins, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at the Pinelake nursing facility, in Carthage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at First Wesleyan Church, Robbins, with the Rev. Sam Swinney and the Rev. Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Kennedy Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.
Mr. Deaton was the owner and operator of Deaton Mobile Homes and Sunset Drive Mobile Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurney and Florence Williams Deaton. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home; daughter, Ann Marie Mussellwhite, of Seagrove; stepdaughter, Judith Johnson, of Sanford; son, Darius Deaton, of Seagrove; stepsons, Lee Marsh, Johnny Marsh and Richard Marsh, all of Cameron; sister, Carol Saunders, of Seagrove; brother, Jim Deaton, of West End; three grandchildren; and 13 step-grandchildren.
