Richard “Rich” Francis Barry, of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011, at his home, of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst.
He was born March 18, 1958, in New Rochelle, N.Y., on his mom’s 30th birthday. He was the son of Robert H. Barry and Jeanne C. Barry. He moved to Charlotte in July 1971. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1976. He then joined the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg.
After his military service, he moved to Massachusetts, attended technical school and worked for Kodak. He moved to Pinehurst in 2002 with his family. He was self-employed at the time of his death. Richard loved his Northern and Southern family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved children, MacKenzie and Killian Barry, of Pinehurst; sister Kathleen Duncan (John), of Charlotte; brother Bob Barry (Dawn), of South Yarmouth, Mass.; two nephews and two nieces. He was predeceased by his parents.
