Imogene Burgess Baird, 74, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Manor Care Health Service, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, with her daughter-in-law, Sherry Baird, officiating. Burial will follow at Cameron Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home.
A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln Burgess and Blanche Smith Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Baird; a sister, Mary Womble; and sisters-in-law, Marie Burgess and Deb Baird.
She is survived by a son, Donnie Baird and wife, Sherry, of Sanford; three brothers, Jimmy Burgess and wife, Becky, of Greensboro, Sonny Burgess, of Linden, and Wayne Burgess and wife, Lib, of Seven Lakes; a sister, Margie Jacobs and husband, James, of Laurinburg; brothers-in-law, Mac Womble, of Cameron, and Jim Baird and wife, Linda, of Stanford, Ky.; four grandchildren, Ashley Wall and husband, Brandon, of Sanford, Chris Baird, of Sanford, Tommy Collins and wife, Jennifer, of Olivia, and Michael Collins, of Sanford; and six great-grandchildren, Madalyn Wall, Addisyn Wall, Caden Hodges, Taylor Hammers, Alanis Collins and Michaela Collins.
