Rosemary Ann Maurer, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2011.
A Mass to celebrate her life will be held Monday, July 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow in Founders Hall.
Burial at Pine Lawn Memorial Park will be held privately for immediate family.
Rosemary was born and raised in Burlington, Iowa, on June 23, 1927. She began her blessed marriage to Walter, her husband of 61 years, on June 14, 1950. Their life journey took them to Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, Michigan and, finally, to Pinehurst in 1980.
Rosemary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured family time. Her interests included volunteer work at nursing homes, church work, golf and playing bridge. She and Walter loved to travel, and had many wonderful adventures both here and abroad.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter; her devoted children and their spouses, Scott and Cathy Maurer of Livonia, Mich., Thomas Maurer of Cleveland, Ohio, Carol Maurer Cole and Stephen Cole, of Charlotte, Sarah Maurer Pridgen and Mike Pridgen, of Monroe, N.C. Her cherished grandchildren include Bradley and Jennifer Broders, Megan Roslund, Taylor Roth, Sierra and Brandon Pridgen, Stephen Cole Jr. and Andrew and Sara Cole.
