Patricia “Pat” Wright Pusser, 59, of West End, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 10, 2011, at UNC Hospitals–Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Fairview Heights Elementary School, Hamlet, with the Rev. Rodney Hamm and Rev. Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst
She was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Hamlet, a daughter of Annie Ruth Howell Wright. She was a 1969 graduate of Hamlet High School and 1973 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She retired from Richmond County School System in 2010 having taught kindergarten and More at Four at Fairview Heights Elementary School for 37 years. Pat was a member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church, where she was active in Children’s Ministries and attended First Baptist Church in West End.
Pat devoted her life to her students and was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan. She enjoyed gardening with her husband and sharing the harvest with family and friends. She was known for her talent of catering and organizing social affairs. Pat was a loving and giving person who always put others ahead of herself, and was a proud “Nana” who adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Lamar Pusser, of West End; one son, Bradford Lamar Pusser and wife, Melonie, of Whispering Pines; three daughters, Krystal Pusser Bragg and husband, Rick, of Statesboro, Ga., Renee Pusser Overton and husband, Kevin, of West End, and Amy Stroud, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Sarah Caroline Bragg, Meagan Faith Pusser, Thomas Bradford Pusser, Seth McCall Overton and Jacob Lawrence Overton; her mother, Annie Ruth Wright, of Hamlet; and many cousins who loved and adored her.
