Cory Michele Wood, 21, of Randleman, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Foster Street Wesleyan Church, Asheboro, with the Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro.
Cory was born May 23, 1990, in Pinehurst, and was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was a 2007 graduate of Randleman High School and was currently a junior at UNCG. She was a part-time employee of Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro and was a member of Foster Street Wesleyan Church.
Cory was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leon and Mary Briggs and Virgil and Elizabeth Ashbaugh. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Michele Briggs Ashbaugh and Eric Ashbaugh, of the home; father, Gary Thomas Wood, of Carthage; brother, Joshua Gary Wood and his wife, Sara Gentle Wood, of Randleman; nephew, Logan Briggs Wood, of Randleman; and paternal grandparents, Lorraine and Thomas Wood, of Carthage.
