William "Bill-Buck" Nunnery

William “Bill-Buck” Nunnery, 83, of Sanford, died Friday, July 8, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Nunnery was born in Forsythe County to the late Jess Nunnery and Elvie Monroe Nunnery. He was preceded in death by his sisters Pearl Wilkes and Alice McIntosh.
He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church where he served on the ­baptismal committee, cemetery committee chairman, past president of the Baptist Men Association and went to many parts of the world on missionary projects and was a member of the Lamb-Almond Sunday School class.
Mr. Nunnery served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a longtime brick mason and tile setter and most recently worked for Carolina Pools in Sanford.
Surviving relatives are his wife, E. Sue Bennett Nunnery, of the home; a son, Gerald Wayne Nunnery, of Morehead City; a daughter, Deborah S. Wilder and husband, Danny, of Sanford; a brother, Carl Nunnery and wife, Mary, of Carthage; two sisters Ann Key and Bertha Baugaus, both of Carthage; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church fellowship hall.
The funeral will be held Sunday, July 10, 2011, 3 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Ira Sutton and the Rev. Matt Martin presiding.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
