Herbert Thomas, 77, of Pinebluff, died Tuesday, July 5, 201, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Boles Funeral Home Chapel, in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Don Ballenger officiating. Burial will follow at Pinebluff Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas was retired from Aro Corporation in Southern Pines. He was also a longtime member of IBEW Local #553 in Durham. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and going to the beach. He was also a member of the Pinebluff Fire Department from 1976 to 1983.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie Thomas; a son, Mike Thomas and his wife, Beth, of Pinebluff; grandchildren, Richard Brandon Thomas, Justin Tyler Thomas and Emma Nicole Thomas; brothers, Robert Thomas, of Ellerbe, Milburn Thomas and wife, Harriette, of Aberdeen, and Harvey Thomas and wife, Mary Lou, of Ellerbe.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines.
