Mary Ellen Kenslow MacIntosh
Mary Ellen Kenslow MacIntosh, 90, of Pinehurst, passed Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Fox Hollow Senior Living in Pinehurst.
Mrs. MacIntosh was born November 21, 1920, in Coweta, Okla., to the late Henry Floyd Kenslow and Dicie Lovely Mooney Kenslow. There will be a memorial service today (Sunday, July 3, 2011), at 2 p.m. at Fox Hollow Senior Living in Pinehurst with the Dr. Larry Ellis officiating.
Mrs. MacIntosh worked in the real estate industry more than 40 years, twice receiving the honor of Realtor of the Year. She was a member of the Kirk in the Pines Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs Village Arkansas and head of the church prayer committee. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge and dancing.
She was highly respected and loved by her community and fellow co-workers during her career at Big Red Reality in Hot Springs. Upon her retirement, it was said that “anyone who knows or has worked with Mary knows that she is a first class lady”, citing the sincerity of her lovely smile, her professionalism and dedication to serving her clients.
Mrs. MacIntosh was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Hugh Carrington Steele. She was recently preceded in death by her second husband of 11 years, Neil Bruce MacIntosh.
Mary loved her family. She is survived by a sister, Ruth Clark, of Tulsa, Okla,; a daughter, Jan Ellen Mullis and husband, Gary, of Pinehurst; a son, Martin Dale Steele, of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren Jane Ellen Farwell and husband, John, of Raleigh, Jeff Mullis and wife, Stacey, of Hickory, Tiffany Brittain and husband, Grant, of Hickory; and nine great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Christian Fellowship Church of Pinehurst at P.O. Box 5667, Pinehurst, NC 28374, in memory of Mary Ellen MacIntosh.
