Edward Dickerson

Edward Dickerson, 78, of Southern Pines, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, in Southern Pines.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Dick-erson served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; sons, Edwin and Anthony Dickerson; daughters, Marla Goins, Valerie Harris, Cecilia Dickerson and Janee’ Thomas; brothers, Robert and Donnie Dickerson; sister, Alma Dickerson; 38 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Service was provided by Simon Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
