Elizabeth Carre

Elizabeth M. Carre, 88, of Southern Pines and formerly of Saline, Mich., passed away February 25, 2011.
Elizabeth was born on October 22, 1922, in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, to George B. and Yvonne DeRosiers Murphy.
She married the late John Carre on August 25, 1945, in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Together, they raised five children.
Her lifelong passions included her family, home, painting and crafts.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Linda Carre (Fred) Looft, of Leicester, Mass., Bonnie Carre, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Debbie (Christopher Watts) Adoree, of Eagle Spring, Jacqueline Bishop, of Southern Pines, and John (Mia) Carre, of Pinehurst; six grandchildren, Michael Bishop, Eric (Holly) Bishop, Robert (Heather) Bishop, Matthew (Abigail) Looft, Jennifer (David) Felty Chandonnet and John N. Carre; eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Jacqueline, Eric, Michael, Jean, Alden, Danielle and Cameron. She is survived by her sisters, Carol Wallace and Madeline Crosson, both of Oakville, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Richard Murphy and Pierre Murphy; and sister, Yvonne Lippelt.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
