Doris Pettit Overby, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Boles Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lafayette Memorial Park, in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was a 1951 graduate of Anderson Creek High School.
She is survived by her husband, Roy H. Overby; children, Alyce Dees, of Aberdeen, and Roy Stephen Overby and Kimberly Faith Parsons, both of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Joey Albanese Jr, Eric Gunter, Roy Stephen Overby Jr. and Chasity Faith Scholl; and six grandchildren.
