Ottis Garner

Ottis Garner, 79, of Robbins, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at Browns Chapel Christian Church, with the Rev. Michael Parenti and the Rev. James Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, and at other times at the home.
He was born in Moore County to Joe Luther and Mima Catherine Williamson Garner. He was retired from Springs Inc. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his sons, R. Wayne Garner, Ray Garner and Gary L. Garner, all of Robbins; daughters, Sue Garner Watts and Tammy Garner Seawell, both of Carthage; brothers, Lennie Garner and Robert Garner, both of Robbins; sister, Marie Hare, of Hampton, Va.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
