Don Ernest Goodson, 77, of Southern Pines, formerly of Laurinburg, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.
Services will be held in Ward, W.Va., at a later date.
He was born in Ward, W.Va., and graduated from Gawley Bridge High School in 1952. He served in the Marines from 1953-1956, and served as an Admirals Orderly in London, England. He was retired from Dow Chemical Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Samuel Goodson and Dora Ball Riggs; and his wife, Shirley.
He is survived by three daughters, Donna Ansted (Dyke), Teresa Ream (Jeff) and Jane Campbell (Jim); 10 grandchildren, Nathaniel Coleman (Brittanie), Kasslynn Ansted, Laurynn Ansted, Joseph Ream, Mitchell Ream, Jessica Mancari, Jacob Campbell, Nicole Campbell, Erika Campbell and CoCo Campbell; a brother, Lee Goodson (Alice); a sister, Lynn Eby (Ronnie); and a great grandchild, Liza Grace Coleman.
