Athlene Louise Voegler, 83, of Pinehurst, passed Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Carolina House Assisted Living Facility, in Pinehurst.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, with the Rev. David Helms officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Voegler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Southern Pines, where she loved teaching children in Sunday School and singing in the choir. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and was also a skilled bridge player. She loved spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Voegler. She is survived by her sister, Joanna Price, of Silver Spring, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
