Joyce Ann Talbert Davis, 74, of Aberdeen, passed Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born July 8, 1936, in Pinehurst, to the late Charlie Pleasant Talbert and Annie Freeman Talbert.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines with the Rev. David Reynolds and the Rev. David Talbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and spending time gardening around her home.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 59 years, William “Tommy” Davis. She is survived by four sons, Larry Davis and wife, Dornita, of Raeford, Tommy “Tony” Davis and wife, Peggy, of Aberdeen, Phillip Davis and wife, Donna, of Hoffman, and Darrel “Johnny” Davis of Raeford; two daughters, Diane Cameron and husband, Bob, of Florida; and Terri Burns, of Aberdeen; three brothers, Bill Talbert and wife, Vera, of Troy, Jack Talbert and wife, Jean, of Hampstead, and Stanley Talbert and wife, Diane, of Troy; three sisters, Allie Davis, of Aberdeen, Barbara Reynolds and husband, Jim, of Aberdeen, and Phyllis Owens and husband, Chris, of Albemarle; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Annie Talbert; and a brother, Donald Talbert.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
