Tula Ray Baker, 82, of Vass, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gregg Newton and the Rev. Eugene Ussery officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at the church.
Mr. Baker was born Nov. 24, 1928, to the late William Franklin Baker and Mary Ida Bullins. He retired from farming and from the Dunrovin Country Store. He loved listening to bluegrass gospel music.
He is survived by his wife, Lilly Mae Baker; one daughter, Barbara Ann Ratcliff and husband, Don, of Southern Pines; four brothers, William Franklin Baker, of Carthage, Henry Watson Baker, of Carthage, James Baker, of Vass, and Ronnie Lee Baker, of Cameron; two sisters, Brenda Sue Hinson, of Lakeview, and Carolyn Musselwhite, of Hope Mills; and two grandsons, Trevor Ratcliff and Tanner Ratcliff.
