William D. Thomas
William Daniel Thomas, 22, of Whispering Pines, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at First Baptist Church, Southern Pines, with the Rev. Bill Davis and the Rev. Carolyn Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Boles Funeral Home, in Southern Pines.
Will was born Nov. 27, 1988, in Wake County. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School, class of 2007, and attended North Carolina State University.
Will loved life and was loved by all who knew him. A contagious smile and easygoing personality endeared him to his many friends. He was a wonderful son, brother (world’s greatest sister protector), grandson and friend who would always make us feel better. The gift of charm and quick wit will forever keep Will in the hearts of those he so happily called friend. Will touched so many lives in such a short time. He will truly be missed.
Will is survived by his parents, Hamp and Sherri Thomas, of Whispering Pines; his sister, Lauren M. Thomas; paternal grandparents, Jim and Sally Thomas, of Southern Pines; maternal grandmother, Faye Willis, of Beaufort; uncle Mark and aunt Teresa Thomas, of Apex, uncle Keith and aunt Patsy Willis, of Beaufort, and uncle Jim and aunt Kim Willis, of West Virginia.
