Nancy B. Mittnacht
Nancy Bracy Mittnacht, 85, of Pinehurst, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Well Springs Retirement Center, in Greensboro.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at The Village Chapel, in Pinehurst.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas and Arkansas Medical Technology School, she was employed as a laboratory technician for a number of years. In 1952 she married Dr. Arthur E. Mittnacht Jr., in Little Rock, Ark., and they later moved to Princeton, N.J. There she raised a family and was active in civic affairs while her husband was engaged in the practice of orthopedic surgery.
Mrs. Mittnacht moved to Pinehurst with her husband in 1980 and became active in volunteer work, including Moore Regional Hospital, the N.C. Literacy Council, Coalition for Humane Care and Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames and The Village Chapel.
She is survived by four children, Arthur E. Mittnacht III, of Princeton, John B. Mittnacht, of Greensboro, Lisa M. Barbour, of Gibsonville, and Peter M. Mittnacht, of Titusville, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
