Leota M. Ward
Leota Marie Ward, 93, fondly known as “Marie,” passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at The Inn, Quail Haven Village, in Pinehurst.
Memorial services will be held at later dates at The Inn, Quail Haven, and Centralia, Kan.
She was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Centralia, to the late Mary Beulah McDougal and Ralph Henry Forgy. She was a member of Centralia Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Terry Len Ward and wife, Rita, of Foxfire Village, Sidney Ray Ward and wife, Judy, of Dallas, and Rodney Glen Ward, of Foxfire Village; and also Kathy Ward, of Omaha, who considered Marie a special mom. Marie was also known as G-ma and Grandma to her many grand- and great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Glen William Ward; her parents; and a brother, Robert Forgy.
The family wishes to thank her dear friend Jon Lausten, of Aberdeen, for his compassion and friendship for several years, and also the staff at The Inn, who cared for her as if she were their family member.
