Natalie J. Hollingsworth, 100, of Southern Pines, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at her home.
A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Monday, at Powell Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. David Helms. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, N.J.
A native of Plainfield, N.J., she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert D. “Bud” Hollingsworth, Jr., her childhood sweetheart. In the 1960s Natalie and her husband became pilots and enjoyed making frequent trips to Allentown, Pa., in the evenings to watch the sunset and enjoy pie and coffee before returning home. Natalie was a lover of all animals and birds. One of her most memorable quotes was, “I always look forward to tomorrow.”
