Ruth Carneis Hicks, 75, of Kannapolis, formerly of Carthage, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the Tucker Hospice House, in Kannapolis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Cooper officiating. The family received friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment was at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was preceded in death by her husband A.J. Hicks. She is survived by her husband King J. Fortson, of Kannapolis; daughter, Angela Hicks and husband, Tom Jacobs, of Woodstock, Ga.; and brothers D.C. Needham, of Kannapolis, Edward Needham, of Carthage, and Mark Needham, of Kannapolis.
