Elizabeth C. Owen
Elizabeth “Lib” Campbell Owen, of Pinehurst, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Haymount United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Owen was born July 22, 1927, in Pinehurst, to Roy Thomas Campbell and Louise Cole Campbell. She became a resident of Fayetteville in 1941, where she lived until moving to Elmcroft Assisted Living, in Pinehurst, in December 2009.
For many years she was an active member of Haymount United Methodist Church and served as a dedicated board member for the Three Colonies Homeowners Association. She and her husband owned and operated Owen’s TV for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed assisting children and their families at Fleishman’s Tiny Town.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Frederick Owen. She is survived by her children, Vicki Butler and husband, Ben, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary Fowler and husband, John, of Pinehurst, and Daniel F. Owen Jr., of Hope Mills.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haymount United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Elmcroft Assisted Living and the FirstHealth Moore Regional Comfort Care Department for the wonderful, loving care given to Mrs. Owen and her family.
