Paul Isaac Cole, 84, of Aberdeen, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Ashley Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Ashley Heights Cemetery, in Aberdeen. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst.
Mr. Cole was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Hoke County, to the late Jonah Isaac and Lizzie Lucas Cole. He retired from McCain Hospital. He was a people person who loved farming and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jeffrey Cole. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Vera Roller Cole; daughters Marilyn Cheek and husband, Tony, of Southern Pines, and Lorraine Sauer and husband, Doug, of Whispering Pines; sons Phillip Cole and wife, Jane, of Southern Pines, and Richard Cole, of Aberdeen; sisters Louise Tuttle, Myrta Davis and Ruby Easterling, all of Aberdeen, and Elaine Hendrix, of Raeford; grandchildren Beverly, Eddie, Christy, Scott, Megan, Evan, Courtney, Jake, Ashley, Justin, and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Cole, Allie, Riley and Avery; and step-grandchildren Larry and Heather.
