BRUMMETT

Doris Virginia Brummett, 88, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Windsor Point retirement home, in Fuquay-Varina.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Southern Pines.
Doris was raised on her family farm in Albany, Ohio, and lived in Southport, Ind., and Birmingham, Mich., and retired after 30 years service with AT&T to Whispering Pines in 1985. She and her late husband were particularly fond of ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking and had the “best apple pie around,” according to her grandsons.
She is survived by her two grandsons, Jason Allen Brummett, of Apex, and Joseph Edward Brummett and his wife, Jocelyn Gilmour Brummett, of Holly Springs; her daughter-in-law Helen Ann Brummett, of Fuquay-Varina; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Junior Brummett; her daughter, Sharon Ann Brummett Cunniff; and her son, Ronald Allen Brummett.
