Sue W. Hunsucker

Sue W. Hunsucker, 89, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, in Pinehurst.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Gregg Newton officiating. The family received friends following the service at the home.
Mrs. Hunsucker was born in Wake County to the late Roger Clarence and Martha Holland Wood. When she first came to Moore County, she worked at the Carolina Hotel and later held jobs at Jack’s Grill, Carolina Soap & Candle, Pride-Trimble, listing taxes for the county and selling Avon. In her later years she provided care to children in her home, which she truly enjoyed.
Mrs. Hunsucker is survived by her sons David Hunsucker and wife, Jan, of Nashville, and Eddie Dutton, of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Bambi Dutton, of Pinehurst, Kim Monroe Sorensen, of Hinesville, Ga., Mike Dutton, of Seven Lakes, Mark Dutton, of Foxfire Village, Katie Dutton, of Winder, Ga., Ryan Hunsucker, of Charlotte, and Maegan Hunsucker, of Nashville; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Havis Hunsucker; a daughter, Faye Dutton Burgess; and a son, Claude Roger Dutton.
