Albert W. Hubler Jr.

HUBLER

Albert Wellington Hubler Jr., 90, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 10, 2011, at his home.
A funeral Mass honoring his life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Pinehurst, with the Rev. James M. Labosky officiating. Rite of committal will follow at Bethesda Cemetery, in Aberdeen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Boles Funeral Home, in Pinehurst. A prayer vigil will take place at 7 p.m.
Albert was born March 26, 1921, in Gordon, Pa., to Maude Alma Reed and Albert Wellington Hubler Sr. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks, and served his country aboard a U.S. naval ship during World War II. He married Emily Magdalene Lazusky in 1948 and was father to four children: Rich, Vince, Joyce and AJ.
He retired to Pinehurst in 1991 and was a respected member of his community. He was always willing to give his time to various organizations.
Al loved the twilight across the fairway, heading into the warm morning sun for a promising catch, holding the attention of younger generations with feeling and detail. He remembered the important details in others’ lives and the needs of the less fortunate. He was a man’s man of many dimensions with a tender heart for the women throughout his life. Al taught his children respect and strength of character and to always work hard for what you want. His thoughts were rooted in passed memories, always looking ahead to create more. Filling bouquets with azalea, dogwood and camellia flowers was a spring tradition in his home. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Richard A. Hubler, Vincent A. Hubler, Joyce A. Varner and Albert J. Hubler. His grandchildren are Oriyah, Owen and Andrea Varner.
