William O. Bryant

William O. “Bill” Bryant, 73, of Southern Pines, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, on a beautiful fall morning in his garden.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at The Village Chapel, Pinehurst, with the Rev. Larry Ellis, the Rev Sam Walker and the Rev. Al Hill officiating.
Bill was born March 31, 1937, in Newport News, Va., the son of the late Frances and Al Bryant and brother of Douglas A Bryant. Bill was raised in Roanoke and moved to Danville where he met his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Cele Gourley Bryant. Bill and Cele have lived in Southern Pines since 1967.
In addition to his wife, Cele, Bill is survived by their children, Doug Bryant, Laura and Steve Davis, Lynn and Bill Kemmerer; their grandchildren, James Kostuch, Annie and Will Kemmerer, Dylan and Griffin Davis, as well as his brother, cousins and many loving friends.
Bill lived his life with great passion for his family and his church, for his service to the community, for his work as a motel executive, traveling with his family and missions trips to Central America. In this autumn of his life, he drew great joy from his work in Community Bible Study, Penick Village and Design Studio for Cabinetry with his son Doug.
