Franklin D. Jackson
Franklin “Frank” Delano Jackson, 74, of Rockingham, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
He was born March 24, 1936, in Moore County, a son of the late Samuel and Zora Dowd Jackson.
Mr. Jackson had worked as a maintenance engineer with Richmond Technical College, Richmond County Schools, and N.C. Department of Corrections. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Carthage. Mr. Jackson served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958.
A service to celebrate Mr. Jackson’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, in the chapel of Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham, with the Rev. Thomas Hill officiating.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lillian McDonald Jackson, of the home; children, Franklin Delano Jackson Jr. and wife, Anya, of Monks Corner, S.C., Mabel Faith “Sissy” Vilorio and husband, Carlos, of Rockingham, Ronald Eugene Jackson, of Southern Pines, and Patricia Carol Ottofaro and husband, Frank, of Hampton, Va.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; a sister, Ida Jackson Bragg, of Durham; and a number of nieces and nephews.
