Charles A. Leslie

Charles A. “Tony” Leslie, 49, of Sanford, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, while on a long distance truck route in Tifton, Ga.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Star of Hope Baptist Church in Sanford, conducted by Bishop Allan Smith. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of James Elmer Leslie and the late Cora Mae Williams Leslie. He was a long distance truck driver and and was working for U.S.Express. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Leslie, and a daughter, Candice Leslie.
He is survived by his children, Kia Leslie, of Baltimore, Md., Charles A. Leslie II, of Spring Lake, Jasmine West, of Sanford, Antonio Trapp, of Raleigh, Gloria Winchester, of Baltimore, Md.; his father, James Elmer Leslie; sisters, Elizabeth Ann Johnson, of Hinesville, Ga., Nancy Jones, of Cameron, Mildred Leslie, of Southern Pines, Pamela Green, of Carthage; brothers Otis McNeill, of Odenton, Md., James Norman Leslie, of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren and a special friend, Laverne Bryant.
