Donald Palmer Nelson, 84, of 418 Love 15 Drive, Pinehurst, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at St. Joseph of the Pines, Southern Pines.
He was in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Nelson, of Pinehurst; sons, Richard Nelson, of Soldotna, Alaska, Eric W. Nelson, of Half Moon Bay, Calif., David Scott Nelson, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Christopher W.T. Nelson, of Medford, Mass.; daughters, Sherrie Lee Nelson-Cameran, of Southern Pines and Laura Lynn Nelson-Davies, of Seven Lakes; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
There will be a memorial at a later date.
