Joe John Garner, 78, of Carthage, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital in Fayetteville.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m.. Saturday at New Testament Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Darren Richardson and the Rev. Tom Horner. Burial will follow at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was a handyman. He was the son of the late John Early Garner and Maggie Clark Garner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Josh Garner, and a sister, Susie Sheffield.
He is survived by sisters, Lucinda Garner, of Carthage, and Marinda Freeman, of Robbins; a brother, Duncan Garner, of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home. After the graveside service at Flint Hill, the family will receive friends at New Testament Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and at other times at the home of Johnnie Owen Freeman, 283 Marley Road, Carthage.
