Janice Britt Parks, of Raeford, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She was 75.
Mrs. Parks was born in Robeson County on Aug. 28, 1935, to the late Robert Britt and Tessie Vera Parker Britt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Lloyd Parks, and her son Steve Parks. She was a member of Ashley Heights Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Park’s Grill before retiring in 1995.
Survivors include her son, Michael L. Parks and his wife, Vera, of Raeford; three daughters, Carol Thornberg, of Raeford, Marsha Broadaway and her husband, Jim, of Raeford, and Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Tim, of Raeford; eight grandchildren, Beth Broadaway, Dale Broadaway, Catherine Owen and her husband, Jonathan, Michael Parks, Aaron Parks, Sylvia Gross, Brandon Parks and David Gross; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Orem, Sara Barber, Steven Thompson, Mason Broadaway and Sebastian Owen.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford, and at other times at the home, 6391 Aberdeen Road, Raeford.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Shiloh Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Lynn Bullock officiating, directed by Crumpler Funeral Home. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
