Stanley F. Bartholomew
Master Sgt. Stanley F. Bartholomew, U.S. Army (ret.), 87, of Anderson, S.C., passed away Wednesday Sept, 1, 2010, at Hospice of the Upstate, Inc.
He served proudly in the military for 22 years, serving in World War II and was prisoner of war for six years in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Gholden.
Interment is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 23 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., with full military honors.
Stanley leaves behind his children, Stanley Bartholomew III, Anita Lucas, Gary Bartholomew, Dennis Bartholomew, Ronnie Bartholomew, Ricky Bartholomew, Kevin Bartholomew, Madonna Yow, Phillip Bartholomew, Robert Bartholomew and Deanna Bartholomew; 30-plus grandchildren; 40-plus great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Bank, P.O. Box 790, Robbins, NC, 27325, in care of Phillip Bartholomew.
McDougald Funeral Home of Anderson, S.C., is assisting the family.
