MCNEILL

James Luther “Luke” McNeill, 83, of Raeford, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010.
Mr. McNeill was born Feb. 25, 1927, to the late John K. McNeill and Beulah McNeill. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth W. McNeill, John K. McNeill Jr. and Neill A. McNeill. Mr. McNeill was a member of the Raeford Presbyterian Church. He served in the Navy and was also a recipient of the Order of the Longleaf Pine award.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Baker McNeill; two brothers, Edwin “Ed” L. McNeill, of Raeford, and Bobby B. McNeill and his wife, Betsy, of Raeford; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home, 510 North Main St. Raeford.
A funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Raeford Presbyterian church with the Rev. Mark Fisher, the Rev. Beth Foster, and the Rev. Bill Foster officiating.
