Jessie Ray Turney, 73, of Vass, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Born in 1936, Mr. Turney was the son of the late Jack and Alma J. Turney. He attended New Home Baptist Church. He was a farmer and retired golf course maintenance worker.
Mr. Turney is survived by his wife, Eloise Stone Turney; three sons, Jessie Mark Turney, of Cameron, Bobby Lee Turney and Phillip Reece Turney, of Vass; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Dollie Marion and Thelma Ussery, of Cameron, and Stella Jacobs, of Vass; and two brothers, Jack Turney and Junior Turney. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Ray Turney.
A visitation will be held at New Home Baptist Church Friday, March 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at New Home Baptist Church with Pastor Paul McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
