Richard H. Faber
Richard H. Faber, 85, of Aurora, Ill., passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, Ill.
He was born April 13, 1924, in Mendota, Ill., the son of the late William and Henrietta Faber. Richard graduated from the University of Illinois in 1948, served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was vice president of Drywall Associates. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed reading. He was a long time resident of Naperville, Ill., and 19-year resident of Whispering Pines, and a long time member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Naperville, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Thomas Faber.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Zama; his loving children, Susan (Duane Hosimer) Faber, Rick Faber, Becky (Dan) Zollner, and Wendy (Steve) Walker; cherished grandchildren, Lauren Hosimer, Matthew, Jackie and Lisa Zollner, Jayne and Lucy Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hessed House (PADS), 659 S. River, Aurora, IL 60506.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 12, from noon to 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville, Ill. Inurnment will be private.
