Doretha McAllister Simmons, 85, of Carthage, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Tara Plantation, Carthage.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Turning Point Worship Center, Aberdeen. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Southern Pines. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Simon Funeral Home.
Survivors are sons, Owen, James and Willie McAllister; brothers, Winston, Denzell and Jesse James Covington; sisters, Frances Quick, Virginia Dowdy and Hattie Ruth McRae; 17 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
The family is being served by Simon Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
