Elijah Alexander “Al” Smith, 74, of West End, died Friday, April 23, 2010.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, with service at 7 p.m. Committal will be at a later date.
Mr. Smith enjoyed playing bluegrass music.
Surviving are his wife, Virgie Smith, of West End; one son and family, William Bennett Smith, his wife, Dawn, and family; a daughter, Sherry Smith Mullis and her husband, Frank, and family; mother, Gladys Mae Rushing Smith Greene, of Pinebluff; brothers, Bob Smith, and his wife, Edith of Lillington, and Lewis Smith and his wife, Johnsie, of Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
