Adaline Eleanor Cole McEntire, 97, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Tara Plantation Assisted Living in Carthage.
She was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late James Meron Cole and Ada Henry Cole. Mrs. McEntire was preceded in death by her husband, Don E. McEntire, whom she wed in 1934 in Ripley, N.Y.
Prior to moving to Pinehurst in 1990 from Connecticut, she had resided in St. Louis, Mo., Memphis, Tenn., Jackson, Miss., Decatur, Ga., Park Forest, Ill., and St. Petersburg and Naples, Fla.
She is survived by daughter, Marcia Kay Lund and husband, John, of Pinehurst; daughter, Carole Faye Logan and husband, James, of Alexandria, Va.; and son, Don E. McEntire Jr. of Matteson, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately by the family.
