Iona I. McNeill

Iona Ingle McNeill, 89, of Charlotte, passed Monday, April 19, 2010, in The Brian Center Nursing Home in Charlotte.
Mrs. McNeill was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Clio, S.C., to the late John Wesley Ingle and Nellie Carter Ingle.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 22, at 2 p.m., at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, with the Rev. Jonathon Wallace officiating.
Mrs. McNeill spent most of her life in the Aberdeen area, working for many years at Aberdeen Hardware.  She was a charming, witty lady with a kind smile, and a special place in her heart for her two granddaughters. Before her declining health, she was an active member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. 
She is survived by her son, Roger, and wife, Carol McNeill, of Charlotte; granddaughters, Julie and husband, Sam Blackman, of Philadelphia, Pa., Gina and husband, Ron Foresta, of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Nate Foresta and Anika Blackman; a sister, Teena Lawing, of Indian Trail; brothers, Bruce Ingle, of Crossville, Tenn., and Randy Ingle, of Granberry, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Leslie McNeill.
