Apostle Arvetra Jones Sr., 74, of Fayetteville, formerly of Pinehurst, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Come As You Are Evangelistic Center, 117 N. Sycamore St., Aberdeen, at which time a musical service will be held. There will be a walk-through at Purcell Funeral Home, Southern Pines, from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Southern Pines Primary School, 1250 W. New York Ave., Southern Pines.
Survivors include his wife, Pastor Lydia Jones; a son, Arvetra Jones Jr.; daughters, Lydia Joyce Jones Henry, Gloria Jones Copeland, Miriam Jones Crawford, Aretha Jones Chavis, Clarice Jones Baker, Audrina Jones Bunton, and Ciblena Rochelle Jones; 30 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
