Gertrude “Trudy” Huber Fountain, 80, of Southern Pines, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Pinehurst Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Fountain was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Marquette, Mich., to the late Heinrich and Ida Huber. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Northern Michigan University and was a secretary in local dental offices for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. She enjoyed bridge, knitting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Gorman Fountain; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her son, William H. Fountain, Matthews; her daughters, Barbara F. Brink, Durham, and Cynthia L. Fountain, Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Jennifer F. Aycock and husband, Robert, Katherine T. Fountain, all of Matthews, Bryan Brink, Durham; and great-grandchild, Robert D. IV, of Matthews. She is also survived by her sisters, Lise L. Huber, Pinehurst, and Elizabeth Huber, Southern Pines, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines, with the Rev. Tally Bandy officiating.
