Brenda L. Stutts
Brenda Lee Stutts, 45, of Carthage, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a hard fight with leukemia.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Eugene Ussery and Pastor John Chavis.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was very active in her community over the years. She was a member of the Carthage Rescue Squad, and graduated from Sandhills Community College, where she received her RN. She was employed with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, where she worked as a case manager.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Lewis B. Stutts and Billy Lee Mercer.
She is survived by: her children, Jason Blackburn and wife, Heather, of Carthage, Whitley Blackburn, of Carthage; mother, Alice Faye Nall Mercer, of Carthage; brother, Tommy Stutts, of Carthage; sister, Felicia M. Phillips and husband, Lee, of Carthage; brother, Billy Mercer II and wife, Cherri, of Carthage; grandson, Triton; four nieces and two nephews.
The family will receive friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Monday, April 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence of Faye Mercer.
