Geraldine Alice Horak, 78, of Pinehurst, passed Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.  
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines, with the Rev. John G. Tampa officiating.
Mrs. Horak was a member of the Sandhills Quilters Guild and in the Sandhills Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lt. Col. Donald R Horak, U.S. Air Force (ret.); a daughter, Elaine Horak Johnson of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Paul Horak and wife, Kathy, of the U.S. Virgin Islands; a daughter-in-law, Jill Horak, of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Janet Whitaker and husband, Joe, of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Miles, Jesse, Nick, Christa, Miranda and Sara Horak and JohnTravis Johnson; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rick Horak; and a son-in-law, Mike Johnson.
