A crowd of 475 attended a recent Sunday evening “Celebration of Unity” service, endorsed by 16 participating churches, and held at Grace Church in Southern Pines.
Sandhills Presbyterian Church invites the women of the Sandhills to its third annual Spring Women's Conference, "Women of Worth," Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, with Christian author Patricia Hickman.
The Pinehurst United Methodist Church held a barbecue fundraiser and yard sale in March to benefit the Polaris Project and several local charities. The event raised $13,033.
West End Presbyterian sent 12 middle school youth and four adults to Charlotte for an inner city mission trip earlier this year.

Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church will hold its annual Women's Day Celebration Sunday, April 14, at 11 a.m. during which there will be several salutes to outstanding women for religious and community service.
Earlier this year, members from Calvary Chapel of the Sandhills partnered with Calvary Chapel Relief (created by Calvary Chapel Old Bridge and Calvary Chapel Cornerstone in response to the storm) and traveled to Old Bridge, N.J., to assist those affected by Superstorm Sandy.
