The Veterans of Foreign Wars John Boyd Post No. 7318 hosted an awards ceremony on Monday, Dec. 5, honoring The O'Neal School winners of the top three awards at the post level of the Patriot's Pen essay writing contest.
Writing Workshops Planned in Charlotte
The Writers' Workshop is offering new writing classes for the winter season. They are for any level writer, and meet Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. at Providence Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. Registration is in advance only, by mail or at the website (www.twwoa. org). The cost is $75 for nonmembers and $70 for members. Financial aid in exchange for volunteering is available.
