Carthage Woman Faces Drug Charges

Moore County Sheriff's Investigators have charged a Carthage woman with obtaining controlled prescription pills by fraud.

Beatrice Faye Sanders, 56, of 584 Bethlehem Church Road, Carthage, was arrested on March 18, 2013 and charged with felony trafficking in opiates by possession, felony obtain controlled substance by fraud, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, felony attempt to obtain controlled substance by fraud, and felony attempt to traffic in opiates by possession.

Sanders received a $35,000 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County Detention Center.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation conducted by officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and involved an individual obtaining approximately 150 dosage units of Oxycodone by fraud. Oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance.
